Happy Slutty Halloween from Roller Girl and Dirk Diggler
Did I mention I was a rink rat for 2 years in 5th and 6th grade? Every Friday and Saturday night, you could find me at the White Rock Skate Center in Dallas, Texas (one of the few places from my childhood that hasn’t changed much).
Best Halloween EVER! The Roller Girl Costume was a big hit. I didn’t even fall once (I’m way better on skates than walking in heels) AND a swinger couple tried to pick us up. Did I mention I skated from bar to bar in Pacific Beach? We didn’t even take a taxi. Yep, still got it.
So yesterday was the first day I did not post to my blog since starting this writing challenge. The intention of the challenge was to get in the habit of writing and posting every day without my perfectionist tendencies stifling my creativity. If you have read any of my recent posts, you probably noticed it is more about quantity not quality.
I still write every day, but I have set the probably somewhat ridiculous goal of completing my first book by December 31st of this year. I basically have 8 weeks to write a book. (Only 7 weeks if we are being honest about my capacity to write during the S.S. Coachella booze cruise.) I am one of those typical procrastinators who works better with tight deadlines. So if I write 5-7 pages a day, I will have over 300 pages by the end of 2012. Totally doable, right?
In focussing on my book and to spare you from having to read the mediocre posts, I am revising my writing challenge. I will continue to write everyday, but I will only post to my blog three times a week. You don’t have to cry in your beer about it. You can still enjoy my random ramblings, just not on the daily.
Stay tuned for my book that hopefully will be entertaining enough to release in 2013.
Update: Here is a short video of my lazy Roller Girl halloween Costume from 2013. Because roller skating at a gas station makes total sense!
