More Random Acts of Kindness

I just have to say, that I have the most amazing people in my life!  After crushing a couple of OB-STACKLES last week, a bunch of friends reached out to offer a couch to sleep on, spare bedrooms, booze, meals out (feelin super fancy right now), words of encouragement, a tank of gas, coffee dates etc.

I went to dinner with My Aunt B yesterday and this was my fortune:

Random act of Kindness

Lemme tell you about my Aunt B.  She is pretty much a saint.  She lives in North County San Diego and is always taking in strays (dogs, cats, people, etc.).

I’ve lived with her a few times over the years.  The first time was in 2005 after I graduated college, quit the Hollywood game and didn’t know what to do with myself.  She’s the best!

I spent a couple nights with her and it was so nice to sleep in a bed.  Don’t worry, I’ll have a sweet beach house soon, but for now sleeping in a real bed and snuggling with my favorite puppy is pretty dang awesome.

Well, I’ve received lots of kindness so thank you.  I am so grateful to all of the wonderful people in my life.

So my goal is to be more like Aunt B and spread kindness.  We can all be a little nicer, more thoughtful and considerate.   I’ve been meaning to get involved with different causes and recently I met a guy who runs  the Love Hope Strength Foundation.  It combines music and saving lives so I signed up to volunteer and you can GET ON THE LIST!

The only thing I love as much as music, laughing, and people is surfing, so naturally Life Rolls On is the other one that I’m dedicating my time to.  I went the the website and there was one of my boys from Pepperdine on the home page:

John Ashby Life Rolls On

The last nonprofit I am excited about is The Kind Campaign.  You may have heard of this one. It was cofounded by Aaron Paul’s wife who just so happens to also be a fellow Pepperdine alum.

Being a good human not only changes your life but it changes the world around you.  It’s crazy how big an effect a simple smile can have on someone or stopping for 1 minute to help someone.

What are you doing to make the world a better place this week?
