I Get High With A Little Help From My Friends
Wow. 2015 already. It’s off to a great start and I have to say, the thing I’m most grateful for is all of the amazing people in my life.
You can tell who your real friends are when you’re down and out AND when you’re on top of the world. The last few months, as I’ve been making major changes and steps in the right direction, I’ve been overwhelmed by the love, support, words of encouragement and offers I’ve gotten from my friends and family members.
Sometimes you don’t know how much people love and care about you until they have the opportunity. As much as I love words, ACTIONS speak louder than words. (DUH.)
Some so-called friends shine in a crisis. They are the first to try to comfort you or get you to talk about and focus on whatever is going wrong in your life. Misery loves company and miserable people love it when you’re also miserable.
Last year I learned to be leery of people who are always there when shit hits the fan but nowhere to be found when you’re kicking ass at life. And if they are around they are doing to best to involve you in their drama or try to bring you down.
My ma, aka Krazy Katie, always says your real friends will be there for you for your successes too.
So for any fair weather friends who are always dragging my down…BYE. It’s a New Year and I’m not gonna take yo shit no mo. 🙂
To all of the people who love me for who I am, inspire me to be a better person (you know who you are): THANK YOU!
I know I can be a shithead sometimes (and I’m kinda proud of it) and thank you for loving me anyway.
The Beatles said it best:
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm going to try with a little help from my friends
