-Jack Kerouac, On the Road

According to wikipedia:

A walkabout is a rite of passage where male Australian Aborigines would go on a journey during adolescence and live in the wilderness for up to six months.

So I am not Australian or male or an adolescent (although I do have  a bit if the Peter Pan syndrome), and I am not technically living in the wilderness (does car camping count?), but I decided to leave my home in San Diego and everyone and everything that was familiar and routine for a new adventure in Hawaii.

It felt like a good time for a change.  I needed a reset button to get out of my rut.  I like to think of myself as a modern day version of Jack Kerouac (minus the influential, amazing author part).  I am learning to accept versus battle my nomadic tendencies.
